Community Empowerment Association, Inc., in collaboration with representatives of Pittsburgh’s service provider organizations, institutions, and interested stakeholders, announces the 2nd national conference on Mitigating the Impact of Social & Psychological Trauma to the Social Fabric of the African American Community. The 2011 conference focused on mental/physical/environment health, education, criminal justice, and economic justice. The Conference is also designed to allow the development of a committed, coordinated, systematic approach by key stakeholders - public health, mental health, and governmental administrative to address these issues and to provide appropriate care and services to those persons affected by community violence. This year the focus will be evidence-based practices and the best practice models utilized to transform the African American communities nationwide.
